Sounds Right Phonics Classes are educational, high energy classes which teach early phonics skills to children aged 2-4 years. It’s a fantastic way to introduce children, and their adults, to the wonderful world of early literacy through the use of games, dance and music!
Run by a qualified primary school teacher, our pre-school classes provide children with a gentle introduction to letters and sounds as well as the necessary foundations of learning in a fun, interactive and stimulating environment.
Children are taught the skill of oral segmenting and blending, which is perfect for getting them school ready for when the time comes.
Many activities are tailored to include the development of fine and gross motor skills, helping to get those little fingers ready for mark making and writing.

Monday 10am – 11.30 Mirfield Community Centre,
There are many reasons why messy play can help children learn and become more independent. Children take part in an activity that they create, deciding how they want to play and use the materials. This builds confidence because the child is in control.
It helps develop movement, co-ordination and control. Mini Mess sessions are structured to allow play that gives children the opportunity to explore materials using their hands, arms, feet and bodies.
Sessions can be very very messy, so please ensure that both you and your little one(s) have clothes on that you don’t mind getting in a bit of a state (although, generally the little ones are down to nappies etc). Towel and baby wipes are great to bring, wash down facility will be provided.
Starting September 2019
Thornhill Community Pre-School is launching a new Stay & Play on Mondays for £1.
