6 local places to buy kids school shoes

School shoes

Whether your off-spring have just had a growth spurt or last year’s pair of shoes are in a sorry state – a new pair for the start of the academic year is often a necessity.

As with most purchases there’s a broad spectrum from bargain basics to bank breaking brands but luckily for us, here in North Kirklees there’s some great places locally to buy kids school shoes so it doesn’t have to mean a trip to Wakefield or Leeds.

In no particular order we look at the nearest places to pick up school shoes.

Wynsor’s World of Shoes

It’s hard to beat Wynsor’s for their huge stock and low prices. Their range of kids school shoes starts from around £7 for more basic ballet shoes for girls to around £40 for bigger brand names.

They also stock boys black trainers and synthetic black shoes start at £12.

They also have some brand names including ‘Kickers’ which caused a playground frenzy back in the 90s as the ‘cool kids’ shoes of choice – albeit with a much heftier price tag for that coveted red label.

The downside of the outlet is the range can be limited for each size.

Arguably, if budget is the most important than quality,  Shoe Zone in Dewsbury is local and affordable. Maybe more suitable  for older school children.
